Frequently Asked Questions
Our experts will be happy to answer all your questions.
01
What mattress do you recommend?
Foam or spring? This is one of the most common questions, but the answer is not that simple, as it greatly depends on what kind of mattress is currently at home and what the customer is used to. Essentially, the brand does not determine the suitability of the mattress. We generally recommend purchasing a firmer mattress, as it can be made more comfortable later (with a topper). Mattress shopping cannot be "one-size-fits-all"; everyone should choose a mattress individually, adapting to their life situation and physical needs and characteristics. Of course, we are happy to help with this (too).
02
What is a mattress topper good for?
We recommend toppers exclusively for enhancing comfort.
If you choose a firmer mattress that presses on your hips or shoulders, a quality topper can improve your comfort. Your spine will still receive optimal support, but your hips and shoulders will experience a more comfortable, restful time on the mattress.
03
Should I use a mattress protector:
Of course, yes, it's worth it, as it's easier to wash than a mattress cover. Moreover, it excellently absorbs the moisture generated during the night – which our body naturally/due to illness/perspiration emits. For young children, a mattress protector is particularly important due to nighttime accidents. The waterproof mattress protector was developed for this purpose.
04
Should I buy a hardbox bed or a boxspring?
As these beds still require a mattress, we recommend the Hardbox bed. This is because mattresses need firm support, which the Hardbox bed provides, as the top of this bed is firm.
In contrast to Boxspring beds, the firm support is not achieved because Boxspring beds contain bonnell springs in their structure. In terms of appearance, there is no difference between the two bed types.
05
Should I buy a high or low mattress?
This is a collapsible content section used to hold additional information or context about the heading above.
06
Should I buy a high or low mattress?
We are proponents of taller mattresses. Taller support = greater comfort. This applies to both pocket spring mattresses and cold foam mattresses. Based on our experience, a mattress with a minimum height of 20 cm is ideal, but purchases show that more and more people are looking for 25-30 cm mattresses as well.
07
Should I rotate the mattress?
Rotating is unavoidable! We recommend it every 1-2 months. We recommend a hard, straight support because sleeping on the mattress from above presses and dimples the affected side, but the bottom of the mattress remains straight, and after turning over we get an even surface again. Rotating makes the mattress more comfortable and lasts longer.
08
Why wool? Isn't that just for older people?
Wool is a natural material that has been used for thousands of years, both in clothing and for sleep.
Our bodies still react to external influences in the same way as in previous millennia: we sweat, get cold, or feel hot. Wool helps with our sleep comfort, as it is an excellent moisture and heat conductor (and regulator). Furthermore, it is also an extremely good thermal insulator.
It keeps you warm on cold winter evenings, yet it can release heat, keeping you cool during the summer. Due to its breathability, it helps prevent excessive sweating and the formation of unpleasant odors, and inhibits the proliferation of bacteria and mites. It also has beneficial effects on the environment. You don't have to worry about microplastic emissions that would harm nature.
