Benefits of a damask draft stopper

Choosing 100% cotton damask draft stoppers offers numerous benefits, especially in terms of durability, aesthetics, and practicality.

1. Excellent breathability:
Cotton is a natural material that breathes well, preventing mold and condensation on the windowsill, unlike synthetic materials.
2. High absorbency:
Cotton can absorb any moisture or atmospheric humidity that condenses, thereby protecting the windowsill and wall from damage.
3. Elegant appearance (Damask Weave):
The damask weave gives the fabric a special, fine, subtly shiny pattern. This provides an elegant, tasteful look that fits well in offices, medical practices, or sophisticated homes.
4. Durability and long lifespan:
Cotton, especially the damask-woven variant, is strong and durable, thus withstanding use and washing over the long term.
5. Easy to clean:
100% cotton can be washed at high temperatures (if permitted by the manufacturer), which is crucial for allergy sufferers and for maintaining hygiene, particularly in institutions (e.g., medical practices).
7. Environmentally friendly solution:
Cotton is a biodegradable material, making it a more environmentally friendly choice than most synthetic draft stoppers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our experts will be happy to answer all your questions.

01 What mattress do you recommend?

Foam or spring? This is one of the most common questions, but the answer is not that simple, as it depends a lot on what kind of mattress is currently at home and what the customer is used to. Basically, the brand does not determine the suitability of the mattress. We rather recommend buying a firmer mattress, as it can be made more comfortable later (with a topper). Mattress buying cannot be "generic"; everyone should choose a mattress individually, adapting to their life situation and physical needs and characteristics. Of course, we are happy to help with this (too).

02 What is a mattress topper good for?

We recommend toppers exclusively for increasing comfort.

If you choose a firmer mattress that puts pressure on your hips or shoulders, a quality topper can improve your comfort. Your spine will still receive optimal support, but your hips and shoulders will experience a more comfortable and restful time on the mattress.

03 Should I use a mattress protector?

Naturally, yes, it's worth it because it's easier to wash than a mattress cover. Furthermore, it excellently absorbs the moisture generated during the night – which our body naturally/due to illness/sweating emits. A mattress protector is especially important for young children due to nighttime accidents. The waterproof mattress protector was developed for this purpose.

04 Should I buy a hardbox bed or a boxspring?

Since these beds still need a mattress, we recommend the Hardbox bed. Mattresses require a firm support, which the Hardbox bed provides, as its top is firm.

In contrast to Boxspring beds, because Boxspring beds have a Bonnell spring structure, they do not provide firm support. In terms of appearance, there is no difference between the two types of beds.

05 Should I buy a high or low mattress?

We are proponents of taller mattresses. Taller support = greater comfort. This applies to both pocket spring mattresses and cold foam mattresses. Our experience shows that a minimum mattress height of 20 cm is ideal, but sales indicate that more and more people are looking for mattresses that are 25-30 cm high.

06 Should I rotate the mattress?

Rotating is unavoidable! We recommend it every 1-2 months. We recommend a hard, straight support because sleeping on the mattress from above presses and dimples the affected side, but the bottom of the mattress remains straight, and after turning over we get an even surface again. Rotating makes the mattress more comfortable and lasts longer.

07 Why wool? Isn't that just for older people?

Wool is a natural material that has been used for thousands of years, both in clothing and for sleeping.

Our body still reacts to external influences in the same way as it did in previous millennia: it sweats, it gets cold, it gets hot. Wool helps our sleeping comfort, it is a very good moisture and heat conductor (and regulator). In addition, it is an excellent thermal insulator.

It keeps you warm on cold winter evenings, yet it can release heat, keeping you cool in summer. Due to its breathability, it helps to avoid excessive sweating and the formation of unpleasant odors, and prevents the proliferation of bacteria and mites. It also has a beneficial effect on the environment. You don't have to worry about microplastic emissions that would harm nature.
