You may have heard that "life is beautiful when it's foamy," but we really couldn't live without various foams these days. We need foam for washing, for relaxing baths, without foam the beer sparkling golden yellow in the mug would be tasteless, the child would complain about the cocoa they sipped before bed, and without synthetic foams, sleep would be extremely uncomfortable.
Don't believe it? Try an experiment! Close your eyes, imagine a bedroom without foam for a few moments...
Did you succeed? Can you see it now?
Suddenly, only vague images come to mind? Don't be discouraged, we'll tell you that with the disappearance of the foam, it would seem that little would change, but the otherwise friendly and inviting bed would still have unpleasant surprises in store.
The hard planking would press on his shoulders and back, the mattress springs would dig into his skin. In the morning, everything would ache and he would look for an immediate solution. The sacks filled with straw might help temporarily, but in the end he would realize that he would not find a truly good bed on this earth without the comfort materials.
Fortunately, nothing forces you to give up the everyday “luxury” that has become natural. With decades of experience in the production and sale of mattresses that ensure comfortable and healthy sleep, Czinger Home is at your disposal to help you find and select the most suitable mattress for you.
With the help of our trained consultant, Attila Czinger, you can learn in detail about the role of synthetic foams. However, before you dial our Mattress Webshop or visit our showroom, take a few minutes and read through our information below!
We will help you find your way.
We have briefly summarized the characteristics of cold foams, which are among the most modern mattress materials.
What makes you cold?
Despite their obvious name, cold foams are not cold at all. The chillingly cool adjective probably stuck to this revolutionary product line only because of a feature of the manufacturing technology used in its production. Note that this is nothing more and nothing less than the fact that cold foam is made “cold”, i.e. at low temperatures.
The structure of polyurethane foam, which is neutral in contact with human skin, gains its final properties between thirty and seventy-five degrees Celsius. The ratio of its components and the temperature only determine the density and elasticity of the foam material, which will be cut into boards and formed into a mattress in the next work phase. This in itself has little to do with the subsequent feeling of warmth.
Or something anyway.
So it's cold?
Don't worry, you won't shiver on a cold foam mattress. The material, which contains billions of air bubbles, provides a pleasant feeling of warmth, and this is precisely where the important properties that have made it so popular lie. Let's take a look at what these…
Properties
Scientists around the world are researching the conditions for truly restful, yet healthy sleep, and they are drawing similar conclusions everywhere. They have found that sleep does not require a heat wave, but at most a peaceful compromise.
Experts from Maastricht University have concluded that women feel better in warmer environments, while men feel better in slightly cooler ones... So you can bargain.
However, American researchers have added to the consensus by accurately calculating the most suitable temperature for healthy rest, based on the assessment of deep sleep observations. They believe that the ideal temperature in our bedroom is 18.3 degrees Celsius.
There is no reason to despair, in the climate between 15 and 19.4 degrees, which scientists consider desirable, most of us are not just you, but also well-covered. Anyone can relax on a cold foam mattress while relaxing in the warm weather, because although the popular bedding material really does not cool you, it has wonderful abilities.
What's the trick?
The trick in this case is ventilation. The multitude of tiny air channels that make up the structure of the material of cold foam mattresses drain the inevitably generated sweat. We can hide under any thick duvet, we don't necessarily have to wake up in the middle of the night covered in sweat... And that's not all.
Remember? The hardness and elasticity of a cold foam mattress are determined during manufacturing... Well, there are a few things to note about this.
In general, it can be said that the common feature of modern cold foams is excellent point elasticity and shape-following. Sleeping on a carefully selected cold foam mattress is comfortable because the space-age material provides excellent support for the body of the person lying on it. The spine can remain straight, the vertebrae receive an even load, and blood circulation in the limbs will also be adequate.
Assuming we chose a good mattress?
Yes, like all other mattresses, cold foam mattresses are designed for different users depending on their design. There are harder, yet more flexible, and softer, but less flexible cold foam mattresses. It's up to you to decide which one you like best.
In the Czinger Home showroom, you can try out any of our mattresses, test the hardness and elasticity of our products. It's up to you what you buy for your bedroom, but before you point your finger at one of our mattresses, take a piece of advice.
The mattress is a bit like a shoe...
You've probably experienced that even the most demanding footwear becomes really comfortable when you wear it. You can pick up the right size from the shelf, but the new shoe may seem stiff at first, it takes a few steps for your foot to "get used to it".
The same goes for mattresses. The cold foam that feels perfect in the living room may feel soft later in the night.
Choose, eat something harder!
Trust us, decades of experience tell us that the firmer the mattress, the better. You don't even have to guess, we'll tell you how to choose the right one.
Parameters
The manufacturers use two numbers to describe the properties of cold foam mattresses during production. The first is the density, which shows how many kilograms of foam are contained in one cubic meter of the mattress. This is accompanied by the elasticity factor... The more elastic the cold foam, the higher this number.
Which pair of numbers is correct?
There is no perfect mattress for every user, so there is no surefire “recipe.” Quality mattresses start at a density of 35-37 kilograms per cubic meter and a resilience of 42-44. You decide what feels comfortable, but if you want the best, pay attention to one more parameter!
Like their traditional counterparts, cold foam mattresses are also made in a variety of thicknesses. Sixteen to twenty centimeters of cold foam are common, but Czinger Home offers even better, in-house-made mattress pads.
In our showroom, we offer cold foam mattresses that are twenty-five and even thirty centimeters thick. We believe that every centimeter of higher construction provides better support for the body, and if that weren't enough, we have other arguments.
Come and test our products! Try whether you get up from thinner or thicker mattresses more easily! Your experiences will convince you.
Formatting with extras
Cold foam mattresses have a uniform density, but manufacturers spend effort creating comfort zones that provide different levels of support for the head, shoulders, back, waist, buttocks, and legs. Thin grooves are cut into the surface of the foam to provide comfort for those who roll over, sleep on their sides, and sleep on their stomachs.
The process known as profiling allows the mattress to be pressed deeper under protruding body parts, such as the shoulders or hips, thus allowing the spine to remain straight. However, the extras to prevent back and waist pain and improve surface ventilation are not everything. The comfort of modern cold foam mattresses is further improved by using foam springs.
Don't necessarily think of coil springs molded from foam. The technology allows for the creation of extremely flexible, accordion-shaped structures. Inside such cold foam mattresses, you could find a cavity system designed with engineering precision, but you don't have to prepare for uninvited residents moving in.
Monster, mouse?
Fortunately, neither one nor the other, but what is ruled out is the appearance of microscopic invaders on the surface or inside the mattress. The synthetic material of cold foam mattresses is antibacterial and does not provide a living space for mites that cause allergic reactions, so periodic washing of the cover is enough to keep it clean.
Take it, take it!
A cold foam mattress is a long-term investment. With proper care and treatment, and the use of a quality mattress protector, you can create the conditions for restful sleep in your home for up to a decade. Moreover, transporting such mattresses home is not really a big challenge.
Vacuum-packed cold foam mattresses are lightweight and can fit in an average car. However, Czinger Home can help.
We will deliver your standard or custom-made mattress within four weeks, instead of the usual six to eight weeks. All you have to do is get in bed and relax.
